new scientist article and urine drinking

does this mean New Scientist is recommending urine therapy?:

Science: A glass of urine a day keeps the stress away

Pictures of spreads from New Scientist magazine
Drinking your own urine first thing every morning may 'promote tranquility during meditation', according to two Australian researchers. Urine is rich in melatonin, a hormone which can make people feel slightly sedated. This could explain why traditional yogis of the Indian subcontinent recommend the practice, known as amaroli (Medical Hypotheses, vol 36, p 195).
Melatonin is released by the brain's pineal gland during the night; its production is shut off by light shining into a person's eyes. No one is quite sure what melatonin does, but it plays some role in setting our various daily (circadian) rhythms and may even be part of the body's 'master clock'. A dose of melatonin can act as a modest pain killer and can make people feel sleepy. It seems to lessen the trauma of jetlag if taken at bedtime after a flight.

USA stats on work stress

26% of adult Americans report being on the verge of a serious nervous breakdown [2].

40% of workers describe their office environment as “most like a real-life survivor program [3].”

Only 14% of Americans take two weeks or more at a time for vacation [4]. The average American therefore spends more time in the bathroom than on vacation.

61% of Americans check email while on vacation [5].

53% of employees would opt for a personal assistant rather than personal trainer [6].

62% of workers routinely end the day with work-related neck pain, 44% report strained eyes, 38% complain of hand pain, and 34% report difficulty in sleeping due to work-related stress [7].

88% of employees say they have a hard time juggling work and life [8].

70% of working fathers and working mothers report they don’t have enough time for their children [9].

In 2005, a psychiatrist at King’s College in London administered IQ tests to three groups: the first did nothing but perform the IQ test, the second was distracted by e-mail and ringing phones, and the third was stoned on marijuana. Not surprisingly, the first group did better than the other two by an average of 10 points. The e-mailers, on the other hands, did worse than the stoners by an average of 6 points [10].

emotional freedom

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) ?

According to its founder Gary Craig:

"EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true...

"Our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases."

This common sense approach draws its power from (1) time-honored Eastern discoveries that have been around for over 5,000 years and (2) Albert Einstein, who told us back in the 1920's that everything (including our bodies) is composed of energy. These ideas have been largely ignored by Western Healing Practices and that is why EFT often works where nothing else will. As you will clearly see, conventional healing methods have overlooked the obvious".
